A heartwarming rescue took place on the airfield this week!
One of our dedicated airside safety officers spotted an injured Peregrine Falcon on the airfield and quickly stepped in to help.
Thanks to his swift action, the bird has been safely handed over to the team at wildlife rescue, where it’s receiving the care it needs to (hopefully!) make a full recovery.
A huge thank you to our airside safety officers, who go above and beyond every day to keep our airport safe - not just for planes and people, but for wildlife too.

Melbourne Airport has received Federal Government approval for our third runway, enhancing aviation capacity for Victoria and creating thousands of jobs.
The 3,000-metre runway, set to open in 2031, will allow simultaneous take-offs and landings, reducing delays and supporting airline growth.
CEO Lorie Argus emphasised the runway's importance for future air access and economic growth, forecasting it will secure 51,000 jobs and add $6 billion annually to the state economy.
